Embark on a thrilling 5-day Mount Kenya trekking adventure via the scenic Chogoria Route, one of the most picturesque and less-traveled paths to Point Lenana, the mountain’s third-highest peak at 4,985m. This guided climb offers stunning alpine landscapes, lush rainforests, and dramatic moorlands—perfect for hikers seeking a challenging yet rewarding Kenya mountain climbing experience.

Scenic Trekking Experience

Start your journey from Nairobi, heading to Mount Kenya National Park. The Chogoria Route offers panoramic views, waterfalls, and volcanic ridges. Camp at Old Moses and Shipton’s Camps, with acclimatization hikes to prepare for the summit push.

Summit Point Lenana

On Day 3, ascend to Point Lenana, where you’ll witness breathtaking sunrise views over the Kenyan highlands. This non-technical summit is ideal for fit trekkers and adventure seekers.

Wilderness & Wildlife

Old Moses Camp At 6:30 am, you'll be picked up from the hotel/airport/pickup point, then depart for Nanyuki Town which takes about 3 hours

Shiptons camp At 6:30 am have an early morning breakfast, then re-arrange your bags and ascend the Sirimon Track, Climb out of the North Valley and into the Mackinders Valley

Shipton Camp - Acclimatization After refreshments, have a short walk for acclimatization, spend the day doing leisure treks around the peaks and preparation for the summit

Shiptons Camp Early morning wakeup call at 3 30am we attempt point Lenana (4985M) at dawn to catch early sunrise. The trek is approx. 4 hours.

Chogoria- Nairobi Early morning breakfast at 7:00 Am, then from there we trek down 15km through the forest for pick up by village land rover then drive further to Chogoria town further 15km for transfer back to Nairobi.

Tour Features: This is a shared budget tour includes mountain huts and camping; you will join a group of other travelers. Max 8 people per group. If availability permits, this tour can start on any day. The accommodations and destinations of this tour cannot be changed, and single travelers can join this group tour, but it requires a minimum of 2 people to run. Minimum age of 16 years
